Layout & Navigation
This article will provide an overview on the common Layout and Navigation of the Ideagen Safe Food Platform.
1. Solution: The name of the sites solution, e.g. ‘Food Safety Management Solution’, 'Supplier Quality Management Solution', ‘Supplier Portal’, etc, will appear here.
2. Site Name: The name of the site will be reflected here. The site name can be changed within the 'Settings>Plant Settings'.
3. Centers: The centers you have access to as a User will appear here. The centers that are available to you will depend on the solution of the site and the Role you have be given. The centers contain the modules.
4. Modules: The modules you have access to as a User will appear here. The modules that are available to you will depend on the solution of the site and the Role you have be given.
5. Menu Bar: The menu bar displays the current User Profile logged in, an option to Log Out, and the Help Center where the User Guide, Email Support, Announcements, Release Notes and Idea Submission are located.
The Dashboard is the main landing page for the User and will be the first thing they see when logging into Ideagen Safe Food. Site Main Dashboards provide an oversight of Risk and Compliance across your business operations. The Main Dashboard contain several smaller 'Dashlets' which focus on an aspect of the site. Hovering over the heading of each Dashlet, you will see a ToolTip that describes the purpose of the Dashlet.
The Main Dashboard will present three main elements:
- Information and Support: The first element at the top of the Dashboard allows you quick access to contact Customer Support, the User Guide, and other Resources.
- Status: The second element the User will notice is the two Summary Rating Dashlets covering Compliance and Risk. These present a summary of all current data in the site to let Users know if the site is doing what they are supposed to be doing and if there are any issues open increasing risk.
- Key Data and Trends: You will see Dashlets that present to you the most important activity data which typically you need to know and action day to day.
Other Dashlets provide you with useful information on Food Safety Updates and Ideagen Safe Food announcements.

The structure and layout of each module in Ideagen Safe Food is very similar. The result is that the software is simple, free of complexity, and easy to navigate to ensure that the learning curve required to navigate the software is minimalized.
1. Module Title: Contains the name of the Module/Programme/Record/Entity that is currently being viewed. The example above is of the ‘Cleaning’ module.
2. Module Buttons: Reflects the actions that can be performed within each module. These are the main tasks that can be added to the Programme under which all tasks will be administered against.
3. Module Tabs: The User can quickly alternate between the various sections of the module. The specific actions in each tab can then be performed within the module.
4. Module Tab Contents: Displayed when selected in the Module Tab Menu. This is the content of each tab. The descriptions for each tab are below in sequential order.

The Summary Tab in each module provides an overview of the data on the module. Most modules have a dashboard comprised of dashlets analyzing the data in the module.
The Complete Tab contains a list of all the completed Records in the module.
The Plan Tab displays the list of Programs created in said module showing an overall look at the Program details, e.g. repeat frequency and next due date. See the article on Programs and Plans for further information.
When a module loads, the Actions Tab is displayed by default. The Actions Tab contains a list of any open Records for the specific module. The 'Action Required' column shows the exact workflow stage the Record is currently within. The article on Workflows provides further information if needed.
The Reports Tab contains all the System Standard Reports that can be generated from the data input for the module. Refer to the article on Reporting for further information.
