Add a Category List

Note: The Category Lists are only applicable to the Receiving and Inspection Module in Safefood360.

A Category List is a list with dropdown options that the User can select from in the Receiving & Inspection module. One use for this is to create failure reason codes which can be selected when building an Item Inspection Template. The dropdown options will then be presented when completing the Item Status stage of an Item Inspection Record.

Step 1 - Navigate to 'Master Data>Categories>Add a Standard Category>Category List'

Step 2 - Define the Category List Details

1. Name: Enter the name of the required Category List. [Mandatory]

2. Folder: Place your Category List into a folder to keep your data organised. If you do not have many different Category Lists to add, you can add them to the grey default system folder called 'Categories List'. To add a new folder or sub-folder, click 'New Folder' and then name it. The changes will be automatically saved when you click outside of the box.

3. Description: Add a Description of the Category List to help other system users to better understand when this Category List is applicable and should be selected.

4. List Item: Enter the List Item requirements as needed in this open text field.

5. Add Line: Click 'Add Line' to add more lines to your dropdown list.

6. Remove Line: Click the red 'X' to remove an Item from the List. You will be required to confirm your choice in a pop up window.

7. Move Lines: Use the blue arrows to rearrange the List Item's order. This is the sequence of the list as it will appear in the Item Inspection Records.

Step 3 - Save the Category List

1. Save: Click 'Save' to save your Category List. You will not be able to 'Save' the Category until all mandatory fields have been completed (Name). When the Category List is saved, it is placed in the general 'Categories' tab in the Categories module.

2. Cancel: Click the 'Cancel' button to cancel your progress and return to the main Categories page. Clicking 'Cancel' will cause you to lose all of your progress without the possibility of recovering any of the information previously entered.
