Add an Attribute Test
Attribute Tests are one of the building blocks you might build in Master Data when preparing to set up Monitoring or Receiving Programmes. Attribute Tests are not based on numerical calculations, although the limits can be based on numerical entries. Attribute Tests are qualitative tests that will require the selection of one single option from a dropdown list for which you can assign limit types - you can assign 'Target (Pass)', 'Warning (Pass,Warning)' or 'Out of Spec (Fail)' limits for each specification that you add. Attribute Test names will generally be question or statement based, for example, 'Raw Material Colour (Avocado)', or 'Is there evidence of pest activity?', etc.
Adding an Attribute Test
To add an Attribute Test, navigate to the Tests module via 'Master Data>Tests', then click on 'Add Test>Attribute Test'.

1. Enter Test Details

1. Name: Enter the name of the Test. This name will appear in the 'Tests' folder when building Monitoring and Receiving Programmes.
2. Folder: It is good practice to organise your Attribute Tests into folders to help you keep them in logical, tidy groups. This will help you to source your Tests more easily when you are building your Programmes. Adding Tests to folders with clear naming conventions will help you speed up your Programme Building process.
3. Description: This is an open text field. Provide a brief description of the Test - this will appear in the Monitoring and Receiving Programmes when building them, helping you identify your Tests easier if many are built with the same or similar names. The description will also appear in the Monitoring and Receiving Records when you hover over the name of the Test.

4. Procedure: If a related Procedure is required, you can select the supporting Document previously uploaded to Master Data here. When completing a Record, you will be able to click on the name of the Test (which will appear as a blue clickable hyperlink) and view or download the Document while in the Record.
To select a Procedure, click on the dropdown arrow and your Documents folder will be displayed. From there, navigate to your required folder, select your file until a grey background appears, and click 'Select' to add it to the Test. To remove a procedure, click the 'X' button.

2. Test Specification Limits

1. Specification: This is an open text field where you should enter your Test specifications. The Test specifications should be the possible responses for your Test 'question', i.e. it would be the responses available for the provided Test name.
If you require the selection of multiple options for a Test, you can combine the specifications in one specification line, for example including all 'Pass, Warning' specifications in one line, such as 'Dark Green, Brown Shades', as per the example above, etc.
2. Limit Type: Use the dropdown arrow to select a limit for your Test specification. You can choose from 'Target' which will result in a green 'Pass' result, 'Warning' which will result in an orange 'Pass, Warning' result, or 'Out of Spec' which will result in a red 'Fail' result.

3. Event Notice: An event notice can be added in the open text fields if required, for all of the specifications. The Event Notice will be displayed when a Record is 'Saved' or 'Saved & Submitted' for the first time. Click 'Ok' to acknowledge the event notice when prompted.

Enable SPC Analysis: Ticking the 'Enable SPC Analysis' box allows the information from the completed Tests to be pulled into the SPC Dashboards.
For SPC Analysis to appear in the dashboards, you must complete 25 instances (over 25 different days) of that Attribute Test. For example:
- Example 1: The Attribute Test is completed 1 time in 25 different Monitoring Records. These 25 different Monitoring Records must be completed over 25 different days, resulting in 25 days' worth of data.
7. Save: Click the 'Save' button to save the Test and move it to the 'Attributes' column in the main Tests module page.
8. Cancel: Click the 'Cancel' button to cancel your progress and return to the main Tests module page. If you choose to cancel, you will lose your progress without the possibility of recovery.
